Merchandise Assistant - International

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Merchandising Department, directly supporting the Assistant Merchandisers and more senior members of the team for our international Home and Travel ranges. Our Global Merchandisers are responsible for building effective working relationships with the buyers, suppliers, international operations (including finance) and overseas logistics providers to ensure stores and franchises are fully stocked and profitable! This is a busy role, ideally suited to numerate and details-focused people who are keen to start a career in retail merchandising. Candidates will need to demonstrate the following attributes:

• An understanding of critical path in the ordering and supply of clothing for our overseas franchises from the relevant Distribution Centre - this forms a majority of the role, so attention to detail is paramount;
• A high attention to detail combined with good organising and prioritising skills, the better to liaise effectively with shipping agents and monitor delivery schedules;
• Excellent customer service skills to build good working relationships with our designers, buyers, suppliers and branches, who depend on the Merchandising Team to keep their businesses running smoothly with on-time stock;
• Good team working ethic in order to support your senior colleagues in a variety of routine and ad-hoc tasks and become part of a smooth-running team;
• The ability to work under your own initiative, taking responsibility for making some commercial decisions directly relating to your tasks without constant direction;

Naturally qualifications relevant to a career in retail and/or previous experience in a similar order and stock fulfilment environment would be an advantage.
