Garment Technologist - Maternity

We are looking for a Maternity Garment Technologist for our Technology department. The main purpose of this role is to work with Designers and Buyers in the development of innovative, high quality maternity garments that meet safety and legal requirements, as well as our customer's needs. Included in this is to work with Full Service Suppliers and Global Sourcing Offices supplying technical information to support the delivery of the range.

The role also includes the following responsibilities:

• Working closely with Design and Buying to produce technical information packs suitable for our Global Manufacturers to interpret.
• Review design specs and samples to risk assess the garment, resolve issues on fit/grading and fabric to ensure garments are production viable
• Liaising with customer services, trading standards, legal and stores regarding returns and customer complaints
• Support the implementation of the global sourcing and technology strategies
• Develop product, safety and performance requirements expertise from UK and provide appropriate information to suppliers and overseas offices to enable the implementation of requirements
• Support the development of new suppliers including factory approvals as appropriate

Experience in Lingerie construction and fitting - particularly bras, is essential for this role, as well as Ladieswear construction and fitting, with a proactive approach and experience of developing products from design drawings to be production viable.

This role may include traveling so candidates will need to be flexible in regards to this. Pattern cutting and grading skills are desirable, alongside experience of working directly with local offices and overseas production.
