Main Purpose of role:
To design & develop distinctive, innovative ranges in line with Mothercare strategy resulting in increased sales, margin, profits and market share
CUSTOMER; Meeting the needs and aspirations of customers globally - Work closely with designers, buyers, & merchandisers to understand customer needs and expectations and incorporate into ranges & designs. - Attend trade fairs with design team, - Monitor & evaluate competitors & sources of inspiration in the industry & wider markets. - Produce trend and colour information for dept in line with Company, Divisional & Dept strategy
PROCESS; Working effectively & efficiently to contribute to the profitability of the business - Critical path delivery. Work closely with Designer to make sure that information is issued in time to meet critical path - Work closely with technical team to ensure Mothercare quality & safety standards are met, and to help expedite sample development. - Work on dept trend information distribution - Work on colour palette content, layout and palette distribution to Sourcing and full service suppliers - Produce design specs suitable for technical team & factories to interpret - Liaise with overseas offices & manufacturers to achieve successful results, making revisions where necessary to suit processes available
FINANCIAL; _ Support efficiency of the process by ensuring critical path is met
