Assistant Merchandiser
Are you looking for a new job as an Assistant Merchandiser?
The Buying, Merchandising and Replenishment teams based at our Watford Head Office work closely together to ensure that we sell our product range within store as profitably as possible. Merchandising is a key function within this team and this exciting opportunity has now arisen.
The main purpose of the role of an Assistant Merchandiser is to implement the department's agreed range strategy and to support the Merchandiser to manage sales, stock, mark-downs and availability to drive profitable sales.
As an Assistant Merchandiser you will :-
- Within the given financial framework maximise profitability, implementing the new agreed department strategy
- Review and analyse weekly trading data and be confident to act upon the profit, sales and stock performance of the department.
- Awareness of forward trends and how they affect the Range Building process and current/future product
- Monitor the availability of stock to ensure planned launch dates are met and sales and stocks are potentialised through production planning with suppliers
- Understand and manage lead times and the sourcing and manufacturing processes for the department's ranges
- Monitor the intake of stock in order to achieve planned stock levels, sales and terminal stock targets, by working with the replenishment function
You will need to be flexible in your approach, enjoy variety in your work and approach the role in a pro-active, energetic manner.
Skills
- A current AM looking to develop their career within this exciting product area or an experienced MA looking for a development opportunity
- Proactive and confident
- Strong production planning skills
- Good organisational skills
